photography journey

Hi! I'm Sam, a 30-something who is blessed to wear many hats in life—mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, friend, photographer, and teacher (I think that’s it)?! This year marks my 10th year teaching 5th-grade reading, writing, and history, a journey that has been incredibly rewarding, fulfilling (and exhausting - IYKYK)!

Beyond the classroom, my long-time passion has always been photography. I have forever been fascinated by the concept of photographs - moments frozen in time. From a very young age, I have been the one making everyone gather together at family functions for a photo, otherwise sneaking candids. I bought my first “fancy” camera when I was in school for teaching. I was able to take a few photography courses, which only further sparked my passion. What I love most about photography is its ability to tell stories that words sometimes can't. Every photograph captures a fleeting moment, an emotion, a piece of time that can be cherished forever.

In 2023, I finally took the plunge and started my own photography business, a dream that I’m so grateful has come to life. I specialize in using natural lighting and editing with warm, soft tones to create images that feel timeless and genuine. During our sessions, I’ll guide you through some poses, but I always aim to capture those candid, authentic moments that truly tell your story.

a little about me

When I’m not in front of my class or behind the camera, you'll find me enjoying every moment I have with my girls. My daughters are 3 and (almost) 1, and they are surely the best parts of me. They remind me every single day of all that's good in the world. Being their mom brings me immeasurable joy. Motherhood is a journey I truly love capturing in photographs.

Fun facts:

I am obsessed with traditions.

I love game nights. Scategories, anyone?

If I had more time to read, I’d probably be considered a book worm.

Autumn is my favorite time of the year.

I have a passion for writing.

Coffee enthusiast over here! Can’t live without it (or at least refuse to for the time being)!
